I don't do a lot of commissions, but every once in a while I can be persuaded. A friend really wanted a drawing of a wunderpus, and since I think octopodes are awesome I figured I'd give it a go.

Those little dots drove me bonkers, but I believe that if you're going to do something you've got to do it right.
The early stages. I'm so glad I did this on my big Cintiq. There was no other way to get those graceful swooping shapes.
I stopped here for a while because I was a little overwhelmed by all the stripes, and spots, and other little details. I'm glad I pushed through, though. So worth it.
Outline mode and shapes. Little dots aside, this turned out to be one of my less complicated drawings. I'm not used to seeing basically the same general drawing when I hit command-Y.
