Every year I have my intro students create a vector portrait of someone important to them. This portrait began as a "quick" demo for my students, but I couldn't put it down once I started. Jean-Michel Basquiat is one of my absolute favorite painters, so I made an ode to him by drawing quotes from his notebooks and layering them with bits and pieces of his graffiti.  I'll never be able to match the energy and skill of his work, but it was a hell of an education for me to try.
